Advanced advertisers use multiple keywords in parallel to target specific markets or categories. This naturally increases performance, but there are a few things to keep in mind when setting up.
Here’s what you need to do to ensure your multi-keyword setup is configured optimally (if you only have one keyword, this doesn’t apply):
You have a separate CSS domain in your CSS group for each keyword.
This CSS domain only contains the Merchant Centers whose ads are to be displayed via the corresponding keyword.
The product feeds of these Merchant Centers only contain the products that are to be displayed via the corresponding keyword.
We have taken care of step 1. You can complete steps 2 and 3 as follows:
Prepare Merchant Center
You need at least one Merchant Center for each keyword.
Do you already have an MC Pro Keyword?
You can skip this step (e.g., if you have different keywords for each country and there is a suitable Merchant Center for each of these countries).
Don’t have an MC Per Keyword yet?
You need to create additional Merchant Centers.
However, it is advisable to continue using the existing Merchant Center(s) so as not to lose valuable history.
So use existing Merchant Centers for your strongest and most important keywords and create new Merchant Centers for the remaining keywords. You can do this easily in your CSS with just one click:
- Navigate to the keyword CSS domain for which you need a Merchant Center.
- Click on “Merchants” in the left-hand navigation bar.
- In the main area, you will find your Primary CSS MCA – click on the blue arrow icon here to log in.
- You will now be taken to the MCA. Click on “Accounts” on the left-hand side.
- At the top of the main area, click on “Add Account.”
- Now you can create a new Merchant Center account.
You can then set up the new account as usual, i.e., enter company information, upload product data, etc.
Important
Since this Merchant Center was created directly via your CSS, it is automatically linked to your CSS. So you don’t have to add it separately.
