If you’re one of the more advanced advertisers using multiple Keyword CSS setups for the same domain, there’s one important thing to keep in mind:
Free listings can only be assigned to one CSS per domain. If your Merchant Centers are split across multiple Keyword CSS accounts, not all of them will benefit from free traffic.
Best practice:
Create an additional Merchant Center that contains your full product feed and is used exclusively for free listings.
The easiest way is to use your Control Merchant Center for this. Alternatively, you can create a new Merchant Center within one of your Keyword CSS setups.
Make sure to assign free listings to this CSS as described above, so your entire domain benefits from the free placements.
VIEW STATUS IN CSS
You can check at any time in your CSS whether the CSS for the Merchant Centers inside it has the permissions for free product listings and Shopping Ads outside of Europe.
Navigate in CSS to “Merchants”, select the column symbol, and click on “Modify columns.”
Ensure that “Selections” is selected.
The symbols for “Free product listings in Europe” and “Shopping Ads outside of Europe” will now appear in the list.
I hope these insights help you make the most of your CSS and achieve even greater success with Google Shopping.
